38-year-old Dana Shafman is the consumer face of TASER® International and renowned worldwide for her relentless efforts in protecting women from becoming victims through her innovatory TASER parties. As President and CEO of Shieldher Inc., Dana specializes in the personal safety of women with a passion to protect human life and the right to be free of violence and fear. Dana’s calling to the field of violence protection and personal safety began back in 2004 as a direct response to being stalked by two different men within the same year. In 2007, Dana started Shieldher Inc. with a mission to increase the quality of the lives of women by pacifying the daily fears women face. In order to get her message out to women, Dana invented a Tupperware-style TASER party in 2007 to educate women about the benefits of personal protection with a TASER C2. Dana has expanded both her company and her focus to include tactical safety tools and training as well as a broader focus to protect all life, not just the lives of women.

Dana is poised to become a member of National Speakers Association in 2011 as a result of publicly speaking for many specialized groups, charitable organizations and professional business men and women since 2007. Dana has taken an active role in training the women of Homeward Bound’s Thunderbird Facility, a transitional housing facility for victims of domestic violence and homelessness, on the topics of self defense and violence prevention. She has also satisfied numerous requests to appear globally in the media over the past five years and featured in the media including: TODAY Show, CNN, Inside Edition, Mancow Show, CBS Early Show, New York Times, Fox News, BBC, Newsweek, Glamour, NPR, Corporate Event Magazine, France’s Alligator TV, Wired Magazine, Telemundo, Phoenix Magazine, Radio Live New Zealand, Tapei Times, Australian Broadcasting Company, London Telegraph, Dublin NewsTalk 106, Der Spiegel, The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch, CBC National Radio Canada, and The New Yorker.

Dana has studied with or holds certifications and instructorships in Just Yell Fire, NRA’s Refuse To Be A Victim, and Filipino Street Fighting. In January 2011, Dana accepted the position of Regional Representative for AWSDA (Association of Women’s Self Defense Advancement). Dana writes a column for Examiner.com on the topics of personal safety and self defense and she is completing her first book “Stunned By Success” about entrepreneurial lessons learned through becoming the first female TASER dealer in the United States. Dana is presently organizing Awareness March 2011 for sexual assault awareness month in an effort to raise awareness about the prevalence of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse in our society. Dana earned a MBA from Arizona State University and continues to perform strategic business consulting through her consulting firm, END Consulting.
